Capital Almanac is designed so important financial, company, deal, investor, fund, person and document facts can retain provenance. When a trustworthy source does not support a field, the product should show an intentional unavailable state rather than inventing a value.
Source trail
Provider, document, filing period, retrieval context and precise evidence anchors stay attached where available.
Provider normalization
Source-specific records are normalized behind Capital Almanac interfaces instead of leaking provider shapes throughout the product.
Missing means missing
Private-market terms, ownership, performance, valuations and other sensitive facts stay unavailable until a legitimate source supports them.
Market-data freshness
A market-data provider must supply or support a reliable freshness classification. Delayed data is labeled as delayed; the interface must not describe delayed observations as live.
